Bear Valley Police and CSD Road Crews Remove Large Tree Blocking Roadway
On Saturday, November 15, the Bear Valley Police Department (BVPD) and the Bear Valley Springs Community Services District (BVSCSD) worked together quickly to resolve a significant roadway hazard caused by a fallen oak tree on Silver Creek Way.
At approximately 9:50 a.m., BVPD Officer Joaquin Parrino, along with Volunteers In Police Service (VIPS) Chris Clenard and Martin Duenas, responded to a report of a large tree in the roadway near Bear Valley Road and Silver Creek Way. Upon arrival, Officer Parrino discovered a sizeable oak tree blocking the road in front of a residence at 24451 Silver Creek Way. The tree had also caused substantial damage to a concrete fence on the property.
Acting swiftly to protect the community and restore traffic flow, Officer Parrino positioned patrol unit 58-06 to safely block traffic and then personally utilized a chainsaw to cut and remove large branches from the roadway. His efforts cleared enough debris to reopen one lane, allowing northwest traffic to pass safely.
Shortly afterward, a BVSCSD road crew arrived on scene and expanded the clearing operation, cutting and removing additional portions of the oak tree. Their work allowed Silver Creek Way to be fully opened in both directions within 30 minutes, restoring normal travel for residents.
Throughout the incident, both BVPD and BVSCSD demonstrated a strong commitment to public safety and community service. Their coordinated efforts ensured the roadway was promptly secured, hazards were removed, and residents were kept safe, reflecting the dedication both agencies bring to Bear Valley Springs every day.
