California Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board (OSHSB) withdraws updated regulations
On June 10, 2021, in an emergency meeting, the California Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board (OSHSB) withdrew the updated regulations they passed on June 3 regarding employer COVID-19 responsibilities. This means the CalOSHA workplace safety regulations that were mandated in November 2020 will remain in place. As a result, the District is unable to resume in-person meetings as soon as we had anticipated.
We do intend to return to our normal office hours as planned on June 15, but this change means that the District must still request members of the public to use a face covering while in our building, regardless of your vaccination status.
While we apologize for the inconvenience, we also thank our residents for their understanding and patience as we strive to comply with the law, ensure our employees’ safety and continue to work through this ever-changing situation.
The OSHSB board will soon meet to review the workplace regulations with the goal of "match[ing] up with the CDC and the California Department of Public Health, so that we're all on the same page.”
We, along with all Bear Valley Springs residents, are looking forward to the day we can resume normal operations in compliance with the law.
