At a Special Board Meeting on Wednesday, April 16, the CSD Board of Directors made the following appointments to the Police Tax Study Ad Hoc Committee.

Board President Geva Frevert appointed Director Paul Paparella as Committee Chair, and Director Claude Tabor as Committee Vice Chair.

In a 3-2 vote, the board appointed the following community volunteers to the Ad Hoc Committee:

-Bobby Denham

-Jason Blais

-Jim Panek

-Jim Bolander

-Kevin Rice

The Ad Hoc Committee is charged with conducting a financial analysis on the current per-parcel tax to fund law enforcement in Bear Valley. They will use that data to help determine the funding needed by the CSD for law enforcement and recommend a potential tax measure for a future ballot. They will also recommend an oversight and accountability framework to the board.

The Board of Directors has given the Ad Hoc Committee a deadline of December 2025 to have all assigned tasks completed. The Committee’s findings will be presented to the full Board of Directors, which will then decide what actions to take in response to the recommendations.
