Bear Valley Road Construction and Traffic Control Update

The Bear Valley Community Services District met with the contractor and on-site construction manager for the Bear Valley Road Rehabilitation Project on Wednesday, November 4, to address the previous night’s traffic delays and discuss solutions for the remainder of the project.
Effective immediately, the following changes will be made to traffic control procedures:
- Before 9 a.m.: Outbound traffic will be prioritized.
- After 3 p.m.: Inbound traffic will be prioritized.
- During peak hours: Bear Valley Police will assist with traffic control as needed.
Even with these changes, significant delays are still possible during peak hours, potentially exceeding 30 minutes. Whenever possible, the CSD recommends traveling through the construction area between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to avoid peak traffic periods.
Emergency vehicles will receive priority regardless of the time of day.
On a typical workday, construction is scheduled to end by 5:30 p.m. On Tuesday, the contractor encountered multiple delays that extended work beyond its normal end time.
The CSD has established new communication procedures with the contractor to alert residents if construction is delayed past 5:30 p.m. or if there are other significant changes to the normal construction schedule. These will be sent in addition to the regular communications already being issued by the CSD.

Please note that construction is currently taking place on weekdays only
