The Bear Valley Community Services District Board of Directors voted in favor of putting a potential police tax ballot measure before voters in a March 2 Special Election

The Board considered three possible dates: the November 2 General Election, a March 2 Special Election, or a May 4 Mail-Only Special Election.

The March 2 date was selected following a recommendation from the Police Tax Ad Hoc Committee. The committee recommended this date to give the CSD adequate time for a public information campaign before a vote, and to allow the CSD to analyze the impact of the results well before the start of the new fiscal year in July 2027.

The Board of Directors has not made final decisions on the dollar amount of a proposed tax, how it will be implemented, or specific language for a potential ballot measure. Those items will be discussed at future Board meetings.
