Kern County Public Works is hosting a Bulky Waste Collection Event in Tehachapi, offering Kern County residents the opportunity to drive in and drop off their residential bulky waste for free!

8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Waste Management Yard: 416 North Dennison Road
In partnership with FIELD and Waste Management
Bulky waste includes, but is not limited to, household appliances such as refrigerators and water heaters, mattresses, furniture, electronics, BBQ grills, and other large household items. Tires without rims* will also be accepted during the event by FIELD. All items will be accepted free of charge.
Items not accepted at the event include construction waste, demolition and remodeling waste, household trash, green waste, hazardous waste, and commercial waste. Acceptable items can only be dropped off during the designated day and time. Please remember to tarp or secure your load before transporting your bulky waste to the collection events. These events are for residential waste only. No commercial or business waste will be accepted.
Bulky waste collection events are sponsored by Kern County Public Works to address and prevent the illegal dumping issue in Kern County. Bulky items such as appliances, mattresses, and furniture make up a significant portion of the waste found at illegal dumpsites throughout the County.
*Per California State law, transport up to 9 tires per trip.
