Changes to Main Gate Staffing and Gate Pass Requests

Effective Sunday, November 1, staffing at the Bear Valley Springs Main Gate will be reduced to one person per shift.

Over the past year, the CSD has considered and implemented numerous cost-saving measures District-wide, including the possibility of outsourcing gatehouse operations. After evaluating the options, the District determined that retaining direct control of the gatehouse while reducing staffing was the best approach to controlling costs.

The biggest change for residents will be limited hours for requesting gate passes by phone.

Beginning Sunday, November 1, the gate-pass phone line will only be staffed Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. An administrative staff member at the Bear Valley Police Department will handle requests during those hours. The phone line will not be staffed after hours, on weekends, or on District holidays.

The easiest and most convenient way to request gate passes is through the Gatehouse app, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

If you haven't already downloaded the Gatehouse app, visit bvcsd.org/gatehouse to learn more and create an account.
