Police Department Per Parcel Tax Ad Hoc Committee Final Presentation Submitted

The image is a presentation cover for Bear Valley Community Services District, discussing a police services tax committee on February 26, 2026.

The Ad Hoc Committee for Per Parcel Tax for Police Services submitted its final report and recommendations to the Board of Directors.

The Ad Hoc Committee was charged with conducting a financial analysis of the current per-parcel tax to fund law enforcement in Bear Valley, then using that data to recommend a potential tax measure for a future ballot. The Ad Hoc Committee was also charged with recommending an oversight and accountability framework.

The Ad Hoc Committee Report provides four key recommendations:

  • Set a proposed tax amount between $350 and $380 with no escalator.
  • Add a "sunset" clause so the tax expires between 6 and 10 years from enactment.
  • Put the tax proposal before voters in a special election on March 2, 2027.
  • Assign oversight duty to the existing CSD Finance Committee.

The CSD Board of Directors received and filed the recommendations and will determine the next steps regarding a potential tax increase proposal at a future meeting.

Please note that any proposed tax would require approval by voters in Bear Valley Springs.
