Board of Directors Approves Sewer Fee Adjustments
Following a public hearing on June 11, the CSD Board of Directors approved an adjustment to sewer rates for the roughly 500 parcel owners connected to Bear Valley Springs' sewer system. The CSD received 40 protest votes from affected parcel owners, short of the 256 needed to prevent the rate changes from taking effect.

The new rates go into effect on July 1, 2026. At that time, rates for single-family homes will change from $154 per month to $185.49 per month. For multi-family units (condominiums and accessory dwelling units), rates will change from $154 per month to $149.68 per month.
Rates for both will then increase by 7% annually on July 1.

Current fees are not sufficient to cover operating expenses and debt services, and the plant has been operating at a deficit. The new fees will generate enough revenue to cover operations and debt payments, but are not sufficient to pay for future capital improvement projects.
